PERFORMER
I have been performing since a young age. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take part in dance and musical theatre lessons as a child which fuelled my passion for the magic of theatre. I have professionally performed in many guises; in large scale-touring shows, in self-devised circus pieces, in street theatre, at festivals, in my own children's theatre company 'Wild Light', and in children's circus and magic shows with 'The Flying Seagull Project'. I enjoy performing as part of an ensemble because of the team comradery, but I can also work well independently. I love the creation process, and the experience of putting work onto a stage is an extremely special one. |
FACILITATOR
I am an experienced workshop facilitator, leader, and teacher. Whether a long-term project or a one-off session, I enjoy working with young people in creative, engaging, and inspiring ways. I worked for three years in a Primary School in East London as a creative movement instructor which showed me the power of theatre in learning about new topics. I have also worked in refugee camps, youth clubs, theatre groups, and in pupil referral units to facilitate confidence building, team building, and collaborate progression towards a goal. These workshops can take the form of circus, physical theatre, dance, and/or creative movement and are always bespoke to the needs of the specific group. |
PLAY ENTHUSIAST
Not only does play improve the cognitive, social, physical, and emotional wellbeing of children and young people, it also helps them learn about themselves and the world around them. Play encourages healthy development and critical thinking skills. I believe that when play becomes a luxury, children are forced to take on roles beyond their years and can be forced into premature adulthood. This leads to children trying to fit in a role that doesn't belong to them, and their childhood can pass them by. That is why I am a huge advocate for play in all its forms, to replace uncertainty with a smile and show children that their childhood matters. |
